Sunday Sermons
Pastor Dave Noonon Sr.
Sermon Overview
In the pastor’s sermon you will see that most who reject God’s Word do it from personal bias. Few really reject God’s Word from the lack of evidence. Even though the Bible was written over a period of at least 1500 years (From the Exodus 1400 BC to NT times AD 100) and was written by 40 different authors from many different locations (Israel, Babylon, Sinai, Greece, Turkey, and Italy), it provides one unified consistent message. The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God. They are the revelation of God to man. They are the authoritative rule of faith. The Bible is the most accurate document of the ancient world and also the most attacked document of the ancient world.
Sermon Overview
With the many claims to deny the existence of God, every Christian must be ready to discuss the question and ready to prove God’s existence. In this message, Pastor reviews the different claims that challenge God’s existence. The Pastor provides relational verification of God’s existence.
Pastor teaches that collectively, the weight of all the evidence put together is more than sufficient to compel any honest inquirer to confess that "Yes, God does exist". Pastor also teaches what the bible says about denying God.
Sermon Overview
When we experience hard times, praising the Lord may seem contrary to normal behavior by worldly standards . Self-pity is a natural human response and we sometimes must be reminded that our thankfulness should not be based on emotions or a situation's outcome. We should be grateful, even during troubled times, because the Lord has promised to work everything for our good. That means God has a purpose for every experience, even the unpleasant ones.
In Africa, they have the "Taste Berry" ( an African berry, called "miracle fruit," which contains a protein that causes the taste buds to temporarily sense sour as sweet). We do not need to search for "miracle fruit" to help us in troubled times. What we have to do is start praising God.
Jehoshaphat King of Judah King for 25 years from about 873-848 BC was known for seeking God in troubled times. He was a God Fearing King (though he made some errors in his latter years with Ahab the bad King of Israel). Faced with the greatest crisis of his life, Jehoshaphat met seemingly impossible circumstances by trusting in his relationship with God.
In this sermon Pastor teaches on fear, our position in Christ, listening to and praising God.
Two years after the founding of the Assemblies of God, members adopted 16 beliefs for the Fellowship. This list, known as the Statement of Fundamental Truths, remains virtually unchanged. Four of these beliefs are considered the major tenets of the Fellowship. They are:
1. Salvation Through Jesus Christ (John 3:3, 16, 17; Romans 10:13; Ephesians 2:8, 9)
Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life.
2. Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 17, 18, 38, 39)
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.
3. Divine Healing for the Sick (James 5:14-16)
Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.
4. The Second Coming of Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:14-16; 1 Corinthians 15:51, 52)
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.
